Getting to know your clients data file • The more you know about where the data has come from or where it needs to go the better • Check Ctrl 1 • Understanding the Ctrl 1 window • What are the different upgrade paths • Where do I go from here

Data file integrity • It is crucial to run a verify on your clients data previous to upgrading. If there is an issue in the version that they are using it will only get worse once upgrading • Things to look for: • Speed of file • Trial Balance balances • Item Lists, are these clean
Data file considerations • What size is my clients file? • If large, do they need all the information or can we use the Data clean up company tool • What does the Data clean up company tool do • Should I back up or create a portable company file if later than 08/09 • How many memorised reports, transactions and templates do they have
Reports • Check list • GST Report • Trial Balance Report • Balance Sheet • Profit and Loss • Then check, have they changed?
The MUSTS to check • GST Codes • Check multiple agency accounts • Are the preferences correct • These are the force behind transactional data • If they are not upgraded correctly, they simply will not work, nor can they be changed • Tax Lines must be aligned correctly • Example
