How/when/who? • Terrorism is the use of violence and threats to intimidate; usually for political reasons. • Both Palestine and Israel use terrorism. • They come up with certain ways to harm or kill each other and they do it when people will least expect it, or when they are helpless against it. What are major terrorist groups in the region? • Hamas- Palestinian • Al Aksa Martyrs Brigades- Palestinian • Massod- Israeli
Terrorism Expert What has been/should be done to stop terrorism is Israel/Palestine? • On November 7, 2007 at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland there was a peace conference between Israel’s Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and Palestine President MahmoudAbbas and President George Bush to commit to a 2008 peace treaty. • On September 13, 1993 there was a peace treaty between Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin and PLO Chairman Yassar Arafat with Bill Clinton. What are the goals of the terrorist groups? • The terrorists groups goals are to get what they believe belongs to them and prove a point that they are right and they will do anything to prove it and get what they want. What terrorist obstacles are standing in the way of a peace settlement? • The terrorists groups not wanting to stop what they are doing, they just want to keep fighting till they get what they want. • They think harming or killing each other is the only way to resolve the problem.
Peace Plan Our Peace Plan is to split the land up equally and anyone that has to relocate, they will be given money for new homes. Anyone that had a job before and had to relocate will be given a job once they move.
