Music Therapy • Must be to help a student meet a specific IEP goal with data to support that no other method has worked to make progress on the goal. If you think a student needs to be released from music therapy, we will need to do a record review to show the service is no longer needed. General information/updates
Communication on IEPs • Reminder: Even if a student does not receive direct speech language services, you should have information in the present levels showing communication deficits and explaining that instruction is embedded within the classroom programming. • Reminder: IEPs should be rich with information about the students abilities and supports necessary and/or attempted. • Reminder: MUST have an extensive amount of adaptive information, not just vocational/on task behaviors. Assign the following roles in each group: • Leader: person who will keep everyone focused and on task • Scribe: person who will chart ideas on the paper • Presenter: person who will share out in the whole group • Cheerleader: person who will keep everyone positive and redirect excessive complaining.
