Geant4 Simulation: Intro • Geant4 Full simulation • Developed to prepare LSO crystals testbeam • Geometry: • Up to now the geometry is a NxN projective xtals/modules Matrix • No real BaBar ECAL geometry • No realistic SuperB Fwd ECAL geometry • Geant4 Flash Simulation • All very very preliminary! • Run just once • Need to understad many things • Geometry • Same as G4 Full LSO G4 Simulation
Geometry • Projective Xtals: • 2.5x2.5 cm Front • 2.88x2.88 cm Back • 20 cm Depth (~17 X0) • Dead Material • BaBar style • CMS style • Matrix: • 3x3 Xtals module • 7x7 module matrix • Beam • 50 MeV to 9 GeV • , e- LSO G4 Simulation
Deposited Energy Fit Tested Asymmetrical Gauss function to fit the distribution of the Fraction of Deposited Energy (Edep/Ebeam): • P1 : most probable value (mpv) • P2+xP3 : running sigma 0.5 GeV 2.0 GeV 9.0 GeV LSO G4 Simulation

Edep G4 Full vs G4 Flash Beam 200 MeV Beam 2 GeV Beam 2 GeV Beam 200 MeV LSO G4 Simulation
Edep G4 Full vs G4 Flash Beam 5 GeV Ore the results are from a test performed just to see what happens The deposited energy has a very strange behaviour wh have to understand Beam 5 GeV LSO G4 Simulation

Conclusions • The geometry used has been developed with the beam test i mind and has been used just to comapre results • All the results are more than preliminary: just a test • G4Flash seems to be quite fast • Do not know the effect of higher gemetrical complexity on performance LSO G4 Simulation
