Why did Jesus leave Capernaum and where did he get his directions? Knowing that he left sick people behind, how does that feel to us? Does it fit with our conventional ideas about Jesus?
What does this story mean for us as spiritual leaders according to the values and model of Jesus?
Making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world…
Who is our neighbor? (Who is our mission field?) How are we going to develop disciples from among them? (What is our ministry or method?) How will these disciples transform the world? (What is our vision?)
How did you feel about first attempt? How helpful were the examples? What was different about the goldfish attempt? Which felt more empowering and/or affirming? What will your team share with the whole group about how this experience might teach something about the power of our discipling processes?

Make a quick obvious list of ongoing programs in your church. Pick one to analyze together. • Does it support a simple discipling process? • Does it promote movement of individuals more into the likeness of Christ? • Is it aligned with God’s purpose for your congregation? • Are there programs that have lost their purpose? Which ones? Why?
