IBM SVS Alerting Performance for Loitering and Crowd Formation
Overview • Several short video clips were provided demonstrating the following behavior • Loitering • Crowds forming • Stalking • Rowdiness & Fighting • Crowds running away (rapidly disbursing) • Bag snatching • SVS currently only has the ability to detect Loitering and Crowds gathering • Seven videos demonstrating these behavior were ingested into SVS to demonstrate our ability to generate an alert on these behaviors • The following slides show the results
Notes • The Loitering alert will trigger on any individual who remains in the field of view for more than a set period of time. • For this test times of 20 and 60 seconds were used, determined by the length of the loitering in the video clip • Two Crowd Forming alerts were tested • Trigger when the total activity in a region exceeds a threshold (MA) • Trigger when the number of moving objects in a region exceeds a threshold (OI) • On these short clips, both versions performed well • In production the alerts would be tested over a longer time period and the version performing better with respect to hit rate and false positive rate would be used.
