Positive Environmental and Social Benefits Application of these requirements to an individual project is based upon the specific project type and characteristics
Process The typical process for the assessment, approval and monitoring of projects financed by the IDB through its private Sector Department is: 1. Initial Contact and Information Exchange 2. Initial Eligibility Review 3. Environmental and Social Due-Diligence 4. Project Review and Approval 5. Project Execution
Environmental and Social Consultants A. Environmental and Social Due-Diligence B. Project Monitoring: Environmental and Social Aspects C. Environmental, Health and Safety Audit D. PRI Environmental and Social Seminar E. Guideline and Technical Support The ESU maintain a database of information related to potential Environmental and Social Consultants
A. Environmental and Social Due-Diligence • Information Review • Site Reconnaissance • Report Preparation B. Project Monitoring • Financial Closure/First Disbursement • Construction • Operation
C. Environmental and H&S Audit • IDB may require an audit to assess compliance • Project-specific D. PRI Environmental and Social Seminar • Environmental and social project specific topics (i.e.. air modeling, resettlement, environmental risk, etc) E. Guideline and Technical Support • Assist the ESU in developing various guidelines
Requested Consultant Information • Technical experience related to environmental and impact assessments, health and safety plans and procedures, audits and regulatory requirements and compliance • Specific relevant project experience involving large infrastructure projects • Specific relevant experience in Latin American and Caribbean countries • Relevant language skills in English/Spanish and /or Portuguese
