  4. Definitions • Now go back and redefine them can you make those definitions better.

  5. Definitions • Mixture is made up of different substances that are just placed together. Each substance in the mixture has its own properties. • Compounds always have the same chemical formula. They always have the same elements in the same ratios. • Molecules are an individual piece of a compound • Elements are the building blocks of everything. Each has its own properties.

  6. Reaction of Zn and I2 • What are 5 compounds that we have observed in this class? • What are 5 mixtures that we have been in this class? • Observe the reaction of Zn and I2. Write down observations. Were there compounds formed? How do you know?
