2. Step One: Open PowerPoint • Start • All Programs • Microsoft Office • PowerPoint

3. Step Two: Choose a Design Theme • Click on the Design tab at the top of the screen • Click on the toolbar arrow to see more themes • Personalize the colors, fonts, and effects

4. Step Three: Create Your Slides • Add new slides at the Home tab at the top of the screen • You need six slides total • Save after you create each slide • Add clip art under the Insert tab

5. Step Four: Add Transitions • For how items appear in the slide show—under custom animation • For how you move from slide to slide—customize the speed and add sound too

6. Proofread! • Any time you’re presenting, you should always check for errors • Run spell check or use the thesaurus • Save when you’re finished and be ready to share

7. Remember to Include: • Slide One: must have your name and one picture. • Slide Two: share information about you; include five facts (do you have a job or a talent?) and two pictures • Slide Three: share information about your family; must have one picture • Slide Four: what are your favorite things? list five and include five pieces of clip art • Slide Five: what do you hate? list five and include five pieces of clip art • Slide Six: where will you be in ten years and what will you be doing? include one picture
