  2. What is VAL TECH? • A special program for students with an interest and aptitude for technology • Three technology pathways are offered: • Arts and Communications • Business & Computer Science • Science & Technology (Engineering)

  3. 240 credits with 50 from prescribed pathways 150-hour internship (V-TIP) Research project, reflective essay, and oral presentation Electronic Portfolio What are the program requirements?

  22. What is the application criteria for VAL TECH? • Complete and submit application • Grade of B or better in Algebra for 1st and 2nd quarters • For the 1st and 2nd quarters, grade of B in GATE or Honors Language Arts OR grade of A in regular Language Arts INCLUDING English/Language Arts CST scores at or above 75 percent • Two letters of recommendation from middle-school core teachers

  23. VALUE OF VAL TECH • Earn a Tech Diploma • Acquire high-level technology skills • Prepare for continued education in high-level college and university courses • Prepare for continued education in specialized technology certificate programs
