  3. Review – what made David a man after God’s own heart? • Was the overlooked haqqaton, but was OK with it • Was so focused on how big God is, that he didn’t even notice how big Goliath was • Overcame his Sauls. The ones closest who had no reason to hate him, but did anyhow • Others?

  4. Light Bulb Moment David was quick to inquire of the Lord. When significant decisions needed to occur, he inquired (asked) more than any other recorded person in scripture

  5. How bout you? • When you have conflicts with other people, do you try to solve them yourself or do you ask for help? • When you are on the verge of making a big decision and aren’t sure how to proceed? • When you face a difficult obstacle that you have, or have not encountered before?

  6. Pretty strong language • Deut 12:29-32 • Judges 20:18 • 1 Chron 10:13-14 • 2 Chron 34:21 (Josiah figured it out quickly) • More than 300 references to asking or inquiring of the Lord – and he was right every time!
