  16. Grading Breakdown • 40% Daily • 60% Major A variety of scoring methods will be used on compositions. Rubrics will be provided with all writing assignments.

  17. Make-Up Procedures • The number of days a student is absent equals the number of days he or she has to complete the make-up work. • Long term assignments a student has been given advance notice of should be turned in the day he or she returns from an excused absence. • It is the student’s responsibility to refer to my webpage, student calendar or LMS for make-up work. • All major tests and quizzes must be made up before or after school by appointment only. Failure to keep two appointments will result in a zero.

  18. Late Work Policy • Daily grade assignments may be turned in one day late, but will not receive more than a 50. • Major grade projects and papers may be turned in up to 5 days late, but will not receive more than a 70.

  19. Retake/Redo Policy • Any student who is unsuccessful (grade below 70) on a major test will have one reasonable opportunity as determined by the teacher to redo or retake the test in order to show mastery of the material. The “redo” or “retake” test will be determined by the teacher and may not be the exact same assignment that was initially assigned, but rather a variation of the initial assignment that will allow the student to show mastery of the content. The student should have the time to participate in a relearning activity either directed by the teacher or self directed study prior to the retake opportunity. • Each student will have a maximum of five (5) school days OR until the end of the six-weeks, whichever occurs first, to “redo” or “retake” the test from the day that they were notified of the grade. • Students who participate in the test retake opportunity will receive the replacement grade with a ceiling of 70. • Major grade projects and papers will be accepted late for up to five days for a grade no higher than a 70%.   There is no redo option for major projects or major writing grades.

  20. Plagiarism • Dishonesty (plagiarism, cheating) will result in a ZERO for all parties involved and a discipline referral will be written.
