3. Language Arts  One book I enjoyed in language arts this year was Guys Read. I liked this book because it was interesting and it was right up my alley. One strategy I learned to make me a better reader was the stop and ask. Have you improved as a reader this year? Yes, I have because of my stop and ask strategy. My goal for the last trimester is to do better with my speed of reading. I plan to achieve it by practice at home.

4. Writing This year I have written many different writing pieces. My favorite type of writing to do is narrative because it can turn into a interesting story. If I had to give someone advice on how to be a good writer it would be to use the four block outline strategy for persuasive. The writing piece I would like to share with you is The Limit Is Beyond The Sky. We had to interview our loved one over thanksgiving break. Then, we had to take the answers and make it into a story. I chose to share this piece with you because it is a personal memento for Grandpa. My goal for the last trimester is Is to improve with informational writing.

5. Math I think this because I understand what we are learning. One strategy I learned in math this year was the four block. One thing I enjoyed in math this year was adding and subtracting fractions. Something I found difficult in math this year was multiplying fractions. My goal for the last trimester is to understand multiplying fractions. I plan to achieve it by reviewing how to solve them.

6. Social Studies and Science One thing I’ve accomplished in Social Studies this year that I want to share with you is the Ancient Egypt Presentation. We had to each get a “job” at our table and then do research. I was the artist. One thing I’ve accomplished in SCIENCE this year that I want to share with you is the Thermos. Each table had to use a different material for a insulated Thermos. We used wool. We took them outside for 5 minutes. We had only a 20˚ F drop.
