  1. Competition Manager´s Tasks • Started full-time January 2009 • Working together with clubs and city of Tampere • Ensure EYOF-look • 1. Value: Sport  athlete first

Organising Sports • 10 local clubs, one federation • 1100 Sport volunteers (judges, sport officials, sport leaders) • Experience in high level • Agreements with the clubs year 2007 • Compensation 15 000 – 20 000 euros / club: • Organising competitions • Judges, schedules, equipments, preparing venues, technical manual, cooperation with TDs, start list, results

  3. Challenges • Close cooperation with transportation and catering • Schedule problem on Sunday and Friday (Opening and closing ceremony) • Short list and long list  lot of changes!! • Accreditation  information to competition  start list • Information during the festival: NOC Center, Infodesk,competition offices in venues • Getting 9 sports work in same way

  4. City of Tampere • Competition venues in good shape • Gymnastics most expencive event, 1/3 from budget • For the EYOF 2009: • Auditorium to swimming • Warm-up area to Stadium (Mondo surfey year 2008) • Floor to Volleyball • Sport equipments

  5. Feelings during the festival • Lot of People! • Competitions going very well • Phone is not ringing much anymore • This is soon over 

Competition venues – JUDOby Tampereen Judo Tampere Ice Hall built 1965, last reconstruction 2007 main hall 7 800 seats, Lounges, arena 62 x 31 m + fringes locker rooms 8, can be divided into several smaller Ones; offices and meeting rooms as needed parking 3,000 spaces lighting complies with the needs of television, distance from the Olympic Village 5,5, km/10 min. Judo European Championships year 2006.

  7. Competition venues – BASKETBALLby Tampereen Pyrintö Boys – Pyynikki Ball Games Centre International venue for volleyball, basketball, boxing and other indoor sport. The auditorium of the hall seats 1000 spectators Girls – Hervanta Leisure Centre; International venue for ball games, table tennis and ballet. The auditorium of the hall seats 500 spectators International Delfin Basket Tournament every year (3000 participants)

Competition venues – SWIMMINGby Tampere swimming clubs Tampere Swimming Centre Built in 1979, reconstructed 2007 • Eight lanes 50 m plus six lanes 25 m • Eight saunas • Electrical timing with Internet connection and web cameras • 512 lockers • 800 seats • Distance from Olympic Village 6,4 km/15 min.
