  6. What happened in 1988? * Started working for IBM * IBM 3270 Terminal Email: TylerC2@NOSSVM * First exposure to Foils - Use XEDIT create presentation content - Send to mainframe printer - Run it through the foils heat transfer machine - Fire up the Overhead Projector

  7. Foils offered advanced capabilities! * High Definition Imaging – Photocopy an image put it through the foil transfer machine * On the fly markup - Grab a pen and markup away! * Colour Capabilities * Solid State, convenient size * Hi Resolution pictures

  8. It all began with a Roland Plotter... * Found a PC and Roland plotter sitting in an unused office * Had some important software installed - Lotus Freelance Graphics for DOS

  9. Ooohpretty • Pretty Fonts, with things like Bold, Italic and underline • Pretty bullets • Pretty Colours • Pretty Charts, Clip art, Logos, vector graphics • Pretty TIFF Graphics, not supported on plotters  • I had become the not so pretty Freelance, 1-2-3, Manuscript and PC guy.

Lotus Initial Impressions • 80% of calls are on 1-2-3!!!! • OfficeVision is dead • Email upgraded to Lotus Notes 2 • Lotus has products I never knew existed • Prince Charles uses Lotus Agenda, Prince Andrew uses Ami Pro • Lotus Agenda makes grown men cry • Lotus Magellan is better than XTREE • Very few Lotus products print well • Lotus is very different to IBM Agenda, Magellan
