PART A: The materials available The Math’s Mate program is centered around a weekly worksheet. The sheets are bound in student pads which are available for use by students from year 3 to year 10.
The Teacher Resource CD provides the student pad answers and extra material for teachers. It covers all Math’s Mate student pads. A typical START page on the CD.
Skill Builder worksheets, which support the Math’s Mate questions, are available from our website.
PART B: A quick rundown of how the program works The Math’s Mate worksheet is completed. Paul Wright 11. [Percents] Write as a percent: 23 out of 100. Parents sign the work. 10 10 ‘13 T Wright 23% 30. [Probability] Tom has 6 quarters and 12 dimes in his pocket. Students correct their work in class. (Answers available on the Teacher Resource CD and in the Teacher Resource Book) Paul Wright 10 10 ‘13 T Wright Students color the boxes to record their correct answers.
The student record keeping sheetsare completed. (Available in each Student Pad, Teacher Resource CD, Teacher Resource Book and online) Paul Wright 10 10 ‘11 T Wright Students may transfer the colored boxes directly from the worksheet to their results sheet.
The class record keeping sheets are completed by the teacher. (Available on the Teacher Resource CD, in the Teacher Resource Book and online) Teachers are able to keep track of the Skill Builders completed.
If a student is having difficulty with their problem solving strategies, then the Problem Solving Hints and Solutions can be used by teachers to develop students’ problem solving skills. (Available on the Teacher Resource CD and in the Teacher Resource Book)
Over successive weeks, weaknesses in particular skills become evident. Skill Builder links 10 10 10 10 10.1 Where more than one Skill Builder is required, students should complete the lowest numbered Skill Builder first. 21 21 21 21 21.1
Students identify the appropriate Skill Builder as listed on the student record keeping sheet. Skill Builder 8.1 supports question 8 on Blue sheets 1.1 1.2 1.3 and 1.4 8 8 8 8 8.1
The Skill Builder worksheet is completed. The Skill Builder supports students with instructions, worked examples and practice questions. MMBlue 1 1 2 2 3 3 4 4 MMGreen 1 1 2 2 3 3 4 4 8.1 Skill Builder 8.1 supports the first four sheets from each term in Math’s Mate Blue and the first four sheets from term 1 and term 2 in Math’s Mate Green.
The Skill Builders also contain Glossaryand Math Facts sections.

Tests are available, twice a term, covering the previous 4 Math’s Mate sheets. (Available on the Teacher Resource CD and in the Teacher Resource Book) Blue Test 1A There are 2 tests, A and B, to choose from.
Test results are maintained on the test record keeping sheets for easy reporting to parents. (Available on the Teacher Resource CD and in the Teacher Resource Book) Some skill areas that this student might develop are: [Fraction ×,÷] [Substitution] [Perimeter]
