  1. Noun Review Game You need to study: common nouns, proper nouns, plural nouns and possessive nouns.

  3. A general name for a person, place or thing Example: hospital Name a particular person, place or thing Example: Rhode Island Hospital Common Nouns Proper Nouns

  4. Names ONE person place thing or idea. Example: book Names MORE THAN ONE person, place, thing, or idea. Example: books Singular Nouns Plural Nouns

  5. Possessive Nouns Nouns that show ownership Example: Andrew’s binder is under his desk. The binder belongs to Andrew, therefore Andrew’s is the possessive noun.

  6. Identify the common nouns in the following sentence: • Scout troops sometimes make trips to local hospitals. • Answer: troops, trips, hospitals

  7. Identify the proper nouns in the following sentence: • Columbia Hospital is at the corner of Green Avenue and Maple Street. • Answer: Columbia Hospital, Green Avenue, Maple Street

  8. Identify the nouns in the following sentence: • Teachers get satisfaction when their students study hard for their tests. • Answer: teachers, satisfaction, students, tests
