  3. Specifications • 6’ or 10’ in length • Nuplaglass or fiberglass shaft • Nuplaglass • Provides a certain amount of safety around energized electrical wiring • D handle • Steel head • Tines • 6” in length • 6” apart

  4. Use • Sounding a roof • Removal of roof coverings • Breach walls and ceilings • Overhaul

  5. Maintenance • Check shaft for cracks and splinters • Ensure handle is secure • Ensure head is secure • Remove rust with wire wheel or brush • Apply thin coat of WD40 to non painted metal surfaces • May paint head black to prevent rusting • Sharpen tines as needed • Clean with mild soap and water

  6. Safety • Wear appropriate PPE • Minimum of helmet, gloves, and eye protection • Full turnouts and SCBA are required when utilizing tool in an IDLH atmosphere or when making entry into a possible IDLH atmosphere • Check surroundings prior to using tool • Ensure the tool is the right tool for the job
