CREATION COMPROMISES I. QUESTION: IS GENESIS 1 LITERAL? A. Atheists, Agnostics, Skeptics deny this. B. Liberal “Bible Believers” also deny this: “…the content of faith can as well be mediated through a historically false story of a certain kind as through a true one, through a myth as well as through history.” (Prof. V. A. Harvey of Stanford, The Historian And The Believer, 1966, p. 280-281). Dr. Archie Manis gave a photocopy from his personal study Bible with “MYTH, HYMN” written next to Genesis 1:1. (Abilene Christian University professor 1986). ACU book espouses at least 5 different views as true. (Evolution and Faith, 1988; by ACU Faculty members).
