  2. A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME… • THIS IS MY 4TH YEAR TEACHING 7TH GRADE LITERACY AT HADLEY AND MY FIRST YEAR TEACHING “THAT’S ENTERTAINMENT”. • I RECEIVED A BACHELOR’S DEGREE IN MIDDLE CHILDHOOD EDUCATION (Grades 4 – 9) IN MATH & LITERACY AT MALONE UNIVERSITY IN CANTON, OH.

  3. In my spare time, I enjoy… • READING (OF COURSE!) This summer I FINALLY finished the Harry Potter series. My other favorite YA fiction series is The Hunger Games. • TRAVELINGMost recently, I’ve traveled to India and Costa Rica. Summer 2012, I’m hoping to spend time with relatives in Scotland. • EATING ICE CREAM My favorite is Ben & Jerry’s. • SPENDING TIME WITH MY FAMILY which includes my husband, parents, one sister, and one brother. • CHEERING ON THE CHICAGO BULLS!   5. What will we learn about? • Drama throughout history and in various parts of the world • How the arts have been affected by drama from the past • Characteristics of different types of drama • Roles of Artist and Audience • How to perform dramas

  6. What will we do? • Readers Theater • Analyzing scripts • Mask making • Practice theater techniques • Class performances • View and listen to dramas

  7. STANDARDS You will see on the Report card: • Through creating and performing, students will be exposed to how works of art are produced. • Knows the language of the arts. Identifies and describes changes in elements and expressive qualities. • Performs with expression and accuracy a variety of music or other art forms representing diverse cultures and styles. • Work Habits: Assignments, Behavior, Preparation, Accountability

  8. Teacher Availability Students are welcome to visit my classroom before or after school when they feel that they need any extra assistance or have been absent. They also can go to Wildcat Workshop that will be every day after school from 3:30-4:45 unless specified.
