  1. Do we really understand God’s love?

  2. Scripture Reading Luke 7:36-50 36 Now one of the Pharisees invited Jesus to have dinner with him, so he went to the Pharisee’s house and reclined at the table. 37 When a woman who had lived a sinful life in that town learned that Jesus was eating at the Pharisee’s house, she brought an alabaster jar of perfume,

  3. Scripture Reading Luke 7:36-50 • 38 and as she stood behind him at his feet • weeping, she began to wet his feet with her tears. Then • she wiped them with her hair, kissed them and poured • perfume on them. • 39 When the Pharisee who had invited him saw this, • he said to himself, “If this man were a prophet, he • would know who is touching him and what kind of • woman she is—that she is a sinner.”

  4. Scripture Reading Luke 7:36-50 40 Jesus answered him, “Simon, I have something to tell you.” “Tell me, teacher,” he said. 41 “Two men owed money to a certain moneylender. One owed him five hundred denarii, c and the other fifty. 42 Neither of them had the money to pay him back, so he canceled the debts of both. Now which of them will love him more?”

  5. Scripture Reading Luke 7:36-50 43 Simon replied, “I suppose the one who had the bigger debt canceled.” “You have judged correctly,” Jesus said. 44Then he turned toward the woman and said to Simon, “Do you see this woman? I came into your house. You did not give me any water for my feet, but she wet my feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair. 45You did not give me a kiss, but this woman, from the time I entered, has not stopped kissing my feet.

  6. Scripture Reading Luke 7:36-50 46 You did not put oil on my head, but she has poured perfume on my feet. 47 Therefore, I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven—for she loved much. But he who has been forgiven little loves little.” 48 Then Jesus said to her, “Your sins are forgiven.” 49 The other guests began to say among themselves, “Who is this who even forgives sins?” 50 Jesus said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you; go in peace.”

  7. God’s love: • No matter how many sins you have done, no matter how bad you are, He loves you completely and unconditionally. No matter what is in your past, even though you feel abandoned by the whole world, God still accepts you and loves you.

  8. Who He loves: • He loves the sinners. No matter how sinful you are, He came to this world to look for just this kind of person, He died on the cross for all the sinners.

  9. Jesus said: “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. But go and learn what this means: I desire mercy, not sacrifice.” For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.” • (Matt 9:12-13)

  10. As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. (John15:9)

  11. I want to challenge you: • Have you ever thought about how much the Father loves His Son? • He uses the same love to love you and me. • Are you 100% sure that God is crazy about you?

  12. Romans 5:6-8: • “You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

  13. Do we really understand the love of Jesus? • Are you 100% sure that Jesus loves you and His love never changes? • Are you 100% sure that Jesus is crazy about you? • Are you 100% sure that Jesus cares for you more than you can imagine?

  14. Application: • How do we treat other sinners inside and outside of church? Do we accept our brothers and sisters who commit sins? Do we accept outsiders who come to Jesus?

  15. Application: • What do we care most about in our lives? Do we focus on loving others or about holding wonderful meetings, making perfect plans, holding successful activities, or having many good ministries?

  16. Application: • Do we want just to love our parents、wife、husband、friends, those who loves us? • Do we care more about doing the right thing in our own eyes than loving others? • What’s your No.1 priority?
