What is a portfolio? • The short answer is a collection of objects (files, text, lesson plans, images, video clips, podcasts, etc.) which together form a picture of you, your education, and your teaching. • You will use eFolio as you progress through the College of Education. • This slide show will help you set up your account and learn the basics of creating yoru portfolio.
Before you can create your portfolio, you have to apply for an eFolio account. Allow a day for this to be completed.
Go to the website: http://efoliomn.com/ and click on "Sign Up".
Please read the page and follow the directions. • You will get an email like the one shown on the next slide.

After you get the email, go to this page and login:http://login.v2efoliomn.mnscu.edu
Your user name is your email address. After entering it, click on the Login (continue) button. • You will be asked for your Password. You set your own password, but if you cannot remember it, click on the “Forget Your Password?” link.
Check the Remember me for one month button if you like, but this will only work on your home computer – the school lab computers do not save cookies. • You will see a blank portfolio. Examine the following slide. • URL to portfolio: http://judydonovan.v2efoliomn.mnscu.edu/Owner/#
Your build tools are arranged into three areas. • The large center area is your workspace, which is used to build web pages, complete forms, and more. • The left area allows you to add, edit and manage your eFolio's content. • The right area shows the collection of pages in your current website, and this help menu. • It’s easy to expand or collapse the panels, including Help, just click the title bar!
Add Content • We will add content using the New Content area. Once an image or a file is in Content, you can then add it to a portfolio page.
Add a Picture • Have a picture you want to add on your desktop or somewhere else handy to complete this practice. • Click on New Content to expand the list, then Upload. • Click on Image and the Upload. • Click on Browse to find the picture.
Enter a title for the picture. • Enter a short description of the picture in the Roll over text box. • You can indicate if your image is a public image by checking the box. You can include the url of the image location in the url box. • When you are done click the Save button on the lower right.
Click on My Content. • You will see your picture listed. • You will also see a thumbnail (a small version) of your picture.
You will use this technique to add files, images, or anything else to your portfolio. • First upload the object to My Content. • Then drag and drop it on the page you choose.
