When We Wake By Karen Healey
Summary Sixteen-year-old Teganis like many other girls living in 2027. But on the best day of her life, she is shot. 100 years later, she wakes up in a government facility with no idea what happened. The future isn’t what she had hoped for, and she must decide how to live her new life.
Response – Soap Carving I made a soap carving that had musical symbols on it because Tegan plays the guitar, and music is an important part of her life.
Exploration – Questions for Authors Using Goodreads, I was able to ask a few authors some questions. Laurie Halse Anderson and Gayle Forman replied.
Laurie Halse Anderson Me: Will Ashes be the last book in the Seeds of America series? Laurie Halse Anderson: Excellent question, but I don't have the answer! I love American history, so I guess I need to think about what other stories I want to tell. Do you have a suggestion for a time period or milestone in American history?
Other Authors Gayle Forman, the author of If I Stay, replied, but her answer was unrelated. I also had questions for James Patterson, Holly Black, and Sarah Dessen.
