What Things Can We Do On Siesta Key - Plenty of Things To Do
http://SiestaKeyArtDesign.info What Things Can We Do On Siesta Key island in Florida? Well before we share some things with you this needs to be share with you. Stephen P. Leatherman aka “Dr. Beach”,
a professor of environmental studies at Florida International University, recently named Siesta Key America’s Best Beach.“Dr. Beach,”
Siesta Key, is just a few miles away from Sarasota and is a barrier island that is eight miles long. Many consider it to be ‘paradise’ us included, with its abundance of beautiful beaches, tropical birds, and year-round sunshine. The warm waters from the Gulf of Mexico ensure that this little island stays warmer than inland Sarasota. But what does Siesta Key have to offer when the sun goes down?
We next head to nearby Siesta Key Village, which is a charming, beachy village filled with restaurants, bars, ice cream parlors and shops. After touring the "Village" let's go to a favorite spot after enjoying the beach and it is the Blu Que Island Grill where each day they have a special and all you can eat. Obviously this is for the heardy eater. The open-air dining and great music entertainment daily is a favorite with the locals, as well as the vacationers.
Another option to dine is a Siesta Key institution – Siesta Key Oyster Bar (or as locals affectionately call it, SKOB). We always have frozen tropical drinks, Grouper Bites, Oysters on the Half-Shell and Keith's Seafood Tacos. The Key Lime Pie is also good here. SKOB is a great place to come at night, as there’s live music and a really fun, casual, beachy vibe. Sitting out on the deck offers great people-watching, as well.
Most of the action going on after dark on Siesta Key will be found in Siesta Village, where there is a handful of bars and pubs, all in keeping with the island’s tropical flavour. Another in ‘The Village’ of Siesta Key is The Beach Club, which is a trendy bar offering a fun retreat. Live bands are often featured, as well as cocktails and outdoor seating that keep locals and tourists coming back night after night. The bar also has many televisions to keep sports fans up-to-date on the latest scores! It is a popular spot for dancing the night away, to a wide array of different music styles.
Siesta Key tends to offer a quieter and more relaxed night out, so those requiring a little more liveliness and variety to their evenings would benefit from taking the short trip over into Sarasota. Sarasota offers a more city-based night out, with an abundance of night clubs, bars and social hot spots.
Personally Vanessa & I prefer the activity on our 'paradise' island Siesta Key!
