Rice Husk Ash The Uses of Rice Husk Ash that make Bio Waste Priceless for Us. The rice husk surrounds the paddy grain and during the milling of rice in a rice mill, the 22 % portion of it is received as the husk. The rice mill owners make use of this husk to generate steam, which is then used for parboiling process. The 75% organic volatile matter and the rest 25 % weight of it is converted into the ash, which comes to known as Rice Husk Ash. The RHA contains about 90% amorphous silica. Every 1000 kg of rice mill in a rice mill produces about 220 kgs of husk. And this husk is then burnt in the boilers which generate about 55 kgs of Rice Husk Ash.
Rice Husk Ash India is the highest rice producing country in the world. India produces above 20 million tons of HRA every year.
Rice Husk Ash The use of HRA can be made in the construction of concretes. In the concrete mixes, there are chances of the formation of the voids in the concrete if the curing is not done in a proper manner. The RHA can be used to fill the interstices as it is very finer than the cement itself. And the use of RHA will reduce the need for cement in the concrete to a great extent. It provides the density and strength to the cement to make it rock solid.
Rice Husk Ash The amazing water proofing quality of the silipoz makes it a great choice for using it in the water proofing compounds. It has a tendency to reduce the water penetration as much as by 60%. The heat of hydration results in the cracks in the concrete structures. The use of Silipoz in the cement lowers the hydration heat at least by 30% that reduces the chances of cracks in the concrete. The RHA has got a tremendous potential to be used as a substitute to micro Silva or silica fumes and the cost of it will be very low. The use of the Silpozz in the concrete will not compromise on the quality aspect of the concrete. The use of even a small quantity of RHA derived Silpozz can increase the workability strength of the concretes. It makes your concrete walls and floors chemical attack resistant, thereby increasing their comprehensive strength by more than 20%.
