  1. Blog3: Globalrefininggroup.com When To Replace Your Vehicle's Catalytic Converter Catalytic converters of your vehicle play a vital role in cutting down the harmful gaseous emissions. A properly functional catalytic converter will successfully convert toxic gases into water vapor, which is comparatively harmless. Whereas, a malfunctioning device implies that your vehicle will increase the existing environmental pollution. Four things need to be checked to reveal that there is a need for replacement of catalytic converters. Firstly, check converter body or end tubes of your vehicle whether they are busted or rusty. Secondly, check if you can find small pieces on areas other than your exhaust system. Third step is to check for the presence of rattling in the catalytic converter. If you do not hear any rattling on the catalytic converter, then it might be possible that the pellets may have fallen out or have melted away. And finally, check for rattling in the monolithic converters. Carefully listen to the rattling in this type of catalytic converter, since a rattling sound indicates that the substrate might have been separated. Driving a vehicle which does not have a catalytic conversion is illegal. Simply think about the pollution that you will be contributing to the environment. A catalytic converter is an essential part of a vehicle and allows modern exhaust systems to perform with minimal pollution. In case you find that the one installed in your car has seen the end of its life, it is best to sell it off and get a new one installed as soon as possible.
