Career • First job teacher at the Zagreb gymnasium for one year • Secondary school in Osijek • From 1882 he taught for nine years at the Royal Nautical School in Bakar • 1893, corresponding member of the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Zagreb • He taught in the fields of geophysics and astronomy for 2 years • Member of the Yugoslav Academy of Sciences and Arts
Meteorology • In Bakarfirst exposed to meteorology, which he taught at the Royal Nautical School • Founder of the local meteorological station in 1887 • 1891, transferred in secondery school in Zagreb • 1892, founded the Meterological Observatiry in Gric • Formed doctoral thesisOn the Observation of Clouds, the Daily and Annual Cloud Period in Bakar
Seismology • On October 8, 1909 there was an earthquake with its epicentre in the Pokuplje region • By analyzing data from more observation posts, Mohorovičićconcluded that the Earth has several layers above thecore • Firstto establish, based on the evidence from seismic waves, the discontinuity that separates the Earth's crust from its mantle • Mohorovičić's theories were visionary and were only truly understood many years later

Retirement and death • Mohorovicic retired in 1921 • Crater on the Moon,A Gymnasium in Rijeka, Croatia and a school ship in the Croatian Navy and asteroid 8422 are named in his honor • He died December 18, 1936 as the one of the biggest meteorologist and seismologistin the world
