2. He was born in Boston, Massachusetts in 1706. He stopped school when he was 10 years old. He began working with his poor family, making candles and soap.

3. He stopped making candles and soap. He changed his job and made a newspaper with his brother, James but Ben and James did not get along. Ben ran away from Boston to Philadelphia when he was 24 years old.

4. He printed his own newspaper in 1730. He set up a school, library, fire department, and hospital.

5. He signed the Declaration of Independence in 1776. Americans and England were fighting the Americans Revolution. Ben asked French soldiers to help Americans win the war.

6. Leaders met in Philadelphia and Ben helped, too. He met with leaders and wrote the constitution in 1787. He died when he is 84 years old.

7. I like him because he helped the U.S. become free.
