  2. The Rock Cycle This is the rock cycle chart. It shows you how the specific rock is formed, of course. On the other slides is where we will show you how Metamorphic, Igneous, and Sedimentary rocks are formed.

  3. Sedimentary rocks How Sedimentary rocks are formed • Sedimentary rocks forms when minerals flow to a river, streams and/or oceans, also known as sedimentation. More and more sediments are compacted together and build up for a couple of hundreds of years, and you have Sedimentary Rocks! Types of sedimentary rocks Rock salt coal limestone Conglomerate

  4. Igneous Rocks rhyolite scoria basalt pumice Igneous rocks are formed when magma cools down and hardens. There are two types of igneous rocks, 1 is known as intrusive rocks.Intrusive Rocks are formed when the melted rock (magma) rises towards the surface.The other rock is called Extrusive Rocks which is formed when the magma rises up in the volcano which is know as lava. Then, it cools down on the top of the volcano and that’s how extrusive rocks are formed. Gabbro granite Ex. for Intrusive= granite and gabbro Ex. For Extrusive= basalt, rhyolite, pumice, and scoria

  5. Quartzite Metamorphic rock marble • Metamorphic rocks used to be Igneous or sedimentary rocks. They are morphed, so that’s why the rock is called metamorphic.There is ton of pressure, that it heats up and it morphs or changes.If you actually look that close, you can notice that the grains are flat.
