KIDS* III Project Overview Statewide Effort to develop a data structure to streamline data acquisition and reporting Data Sources For 14 of Lane County’s 16 districts Data Warehouse services will be provided by Lane ESD via a contract with Willamette ESD’s data warehouse. Data Uses Originating District/School “Dashboard” available for analysis and decision making related to student achievement District Student Information System Scheduled nightly Other Districts/Schools within Oregon Student record transfer Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) Process to extract data from data systems Data Warehouse Six established data warehouses in Oregon Every district in Oregon must be affiliated with one of the six data warehouses by October 2009. DATA* Project Overview Statewide staff development strategy for the effective utilization of data to improve student outcomes. PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT STRANDS TECHNICAL INSTRUCTIONAL Lane ESD is participating in the statewide effort on behalf of Lane County School Districts. Training will be provided at venues around the state, including Lane County. Complementary training and support on best practice and strategies (i.e.., PBS, RTI, etc.) will be provide by Lane ESD. Data 101 School Data Entry Staff Creating a Data Culture District Administrators Data Coordination District and School Data Coordinators Data to Improve Student Learning District / School Administrators Data Certification District and School Data Coordinators Data to Improve Student Learning School Administrators & Teachers Instructional Strands will incorporate Teaching & Learning Connection (TLC) initiative (Data Driven Decision Making, Making Standards Work, etc.) * DATA Project – Direct Access to Achievement http://oregondataproject.org/

Implementation Timelines KIDS 3 Project • Lane County Data Warehouse Implementation – Lane ESD contracting with Willamette ESD for data warehouse services • Technical Training Development – RFP to develop curriculum awarded to Clackamas ESD Joint Project Plan/Coordination DATA Project • Creating a Data Culture • Data to Improve Student Learning in Districts and Schools • Data to Improve Student Learning in the Classroom Training Sessions will be provided regionally

Data Warehouse Dashboard Examples Following are example “dashboards” available via Willamette ESD’s data warehouse. • “Dashboard” refers to the online graphic screen display that provides summary data from the data warehouse, with the option to “drill down” to detailed data.
