Llama Identification • Items that must be turned in to the Llama Committee: • Completed Llama Identification form • Front and side view pictures of your Llama • Copy of Llama’s registration (if registered)
Fiber Competition (Optional) • Fiber sample must be 100% llama or 100% alpaca fiber. • Sample size must be one (1) ounce. • Fiber must be clean, debris and guard hair free, unwashed. • Full body photo of the animal and copy of registration to accompany sample. • Sample submitted with animal & owner information in a one gallon zip lock bag. • Please see Jr. Fair rules for additional information.
Trophy Money • Each 4-H Llama member is required to solicit support • and submit at least $25 to the Llama Committee to be • used for trophies. • Include the name and address of each sponsor • providing support (they will be recognized at our Llama • show).
Llama Jamboree • This is a fun event that provides experience with showmanship and • obstacle for you and your Llama. • Starting time is 6:00 pm. • This is held at the Rindchen’s farm in North Lawrence, Ohio. For • directions, please contact the Llama Committee.
Llama Skill-a-thon • This is a mandatory event for all 4-H Llama projects. • Skill-a-thon is held at the Foltz Center in East Canton, Ohio. • Start time is 7:00 pm. • Includes: • General Llama questions • Llama anatomy • Showmanship (quadrants) • Quick-release knot
Llama Project Age Breakdown • Age Breakdown matches the new Llama and Alpaca Project and Record Book • Beginner – 8 to 10 years old • Intermediate – 11 to 13 years old • Advanced – 14 years old or older • All Age Breakdowns are consistent for Skill-a-thon, Showmanship, • Obstacle, and Poster
