The leopard gecko is yellowish with dark brown spots on its back. Its stomach is white. In the wild it has dull colors. In captivity, their colors and patterns vary. It weighs 45 to 65 grams and its length is 6 to 9 inches long.
The leopard gecko lives east of Iran, west of India and south central Asia. They enjoy living in deserts.
The leopard gecko eats insects, meal worms, pinkies, crickets, wax worms and spiders.
When a leopard gecko feels threatened, it loses its tail. Ways that it protects itself is by hiding. Also, since its legs are small, they can move fast and can climb well. They also work at night to avoid predators.
