Jumpstart • Jumpstart (some may know as Headstart) has a chapter at ISU. • It's goal is to ensure that children are prepared to enter kindergarten and the educational path that follows. • The commitment a school year long or 300 service hours. • Jumpstart can be worked as class credit, for work study, or for volunteer hours. • Americorps (a huge Jumpstart supporter) provides an educational stipend at the end of the 300 hours. • Jumpstart Corps members will work with groups of pre-school aged children and provide them with knowledge of social, reading, etc., skills.
