History • The first "day of Thanksgiving" actually took place at Berkeley Hundred, Virginia ,USA in 1619 • It started from few of migrants shifting from England to USA a year earlier. • They did not have enough food ,many of them died in 1st winter. • Local people taught them to grow local crops • Next year when they had good crops , at the time of harvest they has a feast ,where local people also joined. • They thanked local people for food & teaching them • The locals also brought turkey, duck, fish, deer, berries etc to the feast. • That is how this tradition started. www.makemegenius.com Free Science Videos for Kids
