  4. PROQUEST NURSING AND ALLIED HEALTH SOURCE database. After entering ProQuest through USU Library, the screen below appears. For now, we will search for the article using the basic search. As you become more comfortable in the future, search for articles using the advanced, figures & tables, and publications tabs. • Please, insert the article’s title in the basic search text box. • In the limit results area check “Full text documents only” and “Scholarly journals.” Full text shows complete articles, if they are available, and not just abstracts. Scholarly journals satisfies the condition of academic sources as your Professor may require. • Next, click Search

  5. Here, the subject term or the article’s title is inserted in the basic search text box. In the limit results area check ―Full text and ―Scholarly journals. Full text shows full articles, if they are available, and not just abstracts. Next, click Search Article’s title: The role of ethical principles in health care and the implications for ethical codes

  6. The screen below shows the results from the basic search. There are thousands of results from our search. The first article is an exact match of what we are looking for, so let’s use this one. 1. Click full text 3. Email, print or request the APA citation Sort the results by Relevance 2. Select your articles Do you need Theses?

  7. Requesting APA citation: please mark the box and select “cite”” APA citation This database also has Dissertations & Theses and E-books. Select any of these links to expand your knowledge. Select Citation/abstract

  8. Clicking on “abstract” provides the reader with a brief summary of what the article is about. This is quite useful during searches concerning a topic of choice, because it eliminates unnecessary reading of entire articles. Yes, an abstract can become a timely academic life saver! Please, check the subjects and MeSH subject to expand your search

  9. Full Text –PDF is an electronic version of the article identical to the hard copy if you had it at hand. Notice that “Understanding the role of principles in medicine” is on page 396. Full Text –PDF is ideal, especially for outside reading assignments and referencing the specific page numbers in the assignments. Full Text PDF

  10. Clicking on “Full Text” gives the entire article, but it does not show the page numbers associated with the article. For example, if I wanted to know the page number with information on “Understanding the role of principles of medicine,” full text does not provide that. However, some articles provide full text only, and at least that’s better than just an abstract.

  11. From slide 7, select ”Dissertations & Theses”. Then open “Sort results by” and select Publication date (most recent first).

  12. The document can be “Save to My Research” , but first you need to “Create a My Research account”
