The Best Things In Life Are Free • Great Paradox • That which is the most expensive freely given • Redemption - 1 Pet. 1:18-19 • Eph. 1:3-8 - “which he lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding.” (NIV) • Bought with a price - 1 Cor. 6:18 What one is willing to pay reflects the value placed on it Do we disappoint Christ who purchased us?

  2. The Best Things In Life Are Free • Great Paradox • What Jesus valued enough to shed his blood: • Church purchased - Acts 20:28 • Kingdom like a treasure found - Matt. 13:44 • A new covenant sealed by blood - Matt. 26:28

  3. The Best Things In Life Are Free • Great Paradox • Yet all freely given by God. • Cannot buy salvation - can't pay for it. Jesus already paid the full price. • Note the increasing commercialism in the church. Churches charging a fee for seminars, dinners, outings - all reflect evidence of the social gospel and crass commercialism When will there be a fee required to attend a gospel meeting, or Bible studies, worship, etc?

The Best Things In Life Are Free • Soul Of Man Of Great Price • What will a man give in exchange for it - Matt. 16:26 • The kind God values - 1 Pet. 3:3-4 • Loss of the soul is the greatest loss of all. • So foolish when so little is required to save it. • Even more foolish when it costs so little and salvation is so freely given - Eph. 2:6-10
