9th Grade Schedule • All students enroll in 6 classes • Write the course name and course number on card • List alternate elective choices for elective courses • Parent/Guardian – Please sign card • Course descriptions and prerequisites in Curriculum Handbook available on PVHS website: www.pvhs.chicousd.org
9th Grade Schedule Line 1 -English 3 Choices: English 9A (by recommendation) English 9-P English 9-Honors (entrance test req.) Other: IEP
9th Grade Schedule Line 2 – Math • If currently in Math B: A or B: enroll in Algebra 1 (IM1) C: enroll in Pre-Algebra (Math C) or Algebra 1 (IM1) with teacher recommendation D or F: enroll in Pre-Algebra (Math C) with a possible math support class • If currently in Math A: enroll in Pre-Algebra (Math C) and math support
9th Grade Schedule Line 2 – Math • If currently in Algebra 1: C+ or better: enroll in Geometry C- or lower: repeat Algebra 1 (IM1) • If currently in Geometry: C+ or better: enroll in Algebra 2 C- or lower: repeat Geometry
9th Grade Schedule Line 3 – PE PE 9 is required for all students

9th Grade Schedule Line 5 - Science or Elective • Physical Science to meet graduation requirements • 3.0-4.0 GPA for CSU/UC may take CP Science 9 or Biology • AVID, if selected • Power Reading if recommended by 8th grade English teacher • Recommended/Required classes - ELD, Academic Support class (IEP)
9th Grade Schedule Line 6 – Foreign Language or Elective Options: • 3.0-4.0 GPA for CSU/UC: may take a World Language (French, Japanese or Spanish) • Explore an elective interest area
9th Grade Schedule Line 7 – Health/Elective • Health combined with a semester long elective • Other Options: • ACE/LIFE Academy- Integrated Life Management class (Health credit) • Online Health (minimum 3.0 GPA required) taken as an 8th period class (priority given to upper classmen)

Due Date Students at Bidwell, Marsh and Chico Jr. will meet with PV Counselors and turn in their cards during the week of March 31st. Out of CUSD district and charter/private schools, please return course selection card and enrollment packet to the PVHS Counseling Office by April 4th.
