6. Class Size, Timing and Location • Class size (5-year): 15, 15, 15, 18, 20 per year • 1styear Fall: Courses at DKU • 1styear Spring: Courses at DKU • June to Dec.: Research and courses at Duke • 2ndyear Fall: Qualifying exam to graduate (or to move to Duke PhD) • 2ndyear Spring: Research and courses at DKU Completing and defending thesis • Research work could be done at • Duke campus or • DKU affiliated hospitals or • DKU campus

7. Teachingand Mentoring: Faculty • All faculty members will be Duke Faculty or DKU/Adjunct faculty approved by Duke graduate school • All courses will be taught in English • Flexible schedule for courses • Classroom teaching • Locally hired DKU faculty or adjunct faculty • Faculty at Durham travelling to DKU (pool of 27 faculty) • Faculty at Durham via remote learning tools (Seminar) • Co-mentorship for each student: • Durham faculty as primary advisor (in Durham or visitation) • DKU-faculty or DKU adjunct faculty as co-advisor (at DKU) • Quality of research: presented in national or international meetings (ideally write up a manuscript for publication)
