  5. WN’s MISSION To build a strong, collaborative network of nonprofits serving Washington communities through advocacy, education and capacity building.

Why a State Association? • Washington has almost 55,000 nonprofits • Organization to watch out for the health of the nonprofit ecosystem in all regions • Unite the sector – reputation and public policy influence • Efficiency & Effectiveness – best practices and shared resources • 35 other states have associations • Some in existence for over 20 years • Active in state and federal public policy • Provide valued products and services to over 500,000 NPOs • Active network of SA’s that collaborates and supports each other

WHO IS WASHINGTON NONPROFITS? • Gathering together the voices from across the state and speaking out about the strength and importance of the sector in our communities • Mapping areas of greatest need and rallying the resources to tackle the challenges • Tying together everyone who supports NPOs to coordinate, collaborate and accelerate growth and success in NPO’s missions. • Incorporated in Jan 27, 2010 • Board received initial funding in Dec 2010 • Hired ED in March, 2011 • Official Launch = October 6th, 2011 • Current Board of Directors = 9, Network Weaver Collective Impact
