  4. The Consumer Protection Act 1987 • it is an offence to supply goods that do not meet general safety standards • it is a criminal offence to give misleading price indications abut goods and services

  5. The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 • The aim of this Act is to improve the safety of employees and others in the workplace • Written health and safety policy made available to all employees • Training must be provided in health and safety matters • To provide a safe environment for their employees • Employees also have a responsibility to work in accordance with health and safety practice
