Decide if they are true or false.Correct the false sentences. 1/ The Native Americans reached the American continent from Asia via the Bering Strait. 2/ Christopher Columbus discovered the New World on January 12, 1492. 3/ The first English colony was founded in North Carolina at Jamestown in 1607. 4/ Many of the first settlers in the New World were from Italy. 5/ In 1820 the ship Mayflower brought the Pilgrim Fathers who founded a colony named Plymouth in Massachusetts. 6/ At the beginning of the 17th century the first slaves were brought to Virginia from Asia. 7/ England wanted the colonies in the New World to pay new taxes. 8/ The colonists agreed with paying the taxes.
