  2. Moss poles mimic the texture of moist, mossy bark and provide physical support for your plants to grow aerial roots and climb upward. Moss poles also offer a way to train widely growing plants into an upright narrow form to fit better in small spaces. Moss Pole 12" - coir fiber, wood and PVC plastic, $2.00

The finished moss pole should be at least 1-2 feet taller than your plant, keeping in mind that at least 6-12 inches of the moss pole will be beneath the soil in order to hold the pole in place in the pot. Be sure that as many nodes (where the stem and leaf meet) as possible are touching the moss pole. These will turn into roots that will attach to and grow on the pole, allowing the plant to become even healthier.
