The 700 Class format On Campus Online Format • 2 8-hour class sessions • Time for lecture • Time for lab work • Please don’t make me stay online for 8 hours! • Class sessions are our time to interact synchronously. • Lectures posted online as blogs and podcasts. • You’ll respond to each blog post. • Saturdays I’m available for tech support until 2.
Why make a 2-unit class? • The line between blogs, wikis, podcasts, and video podcasts is blurry. • A blog may contain a podcast, or a video. • The easiest way to make the RSS feed that podcasts need is to use a blog.
2 Classes, 1 major project • Your final project is an online environment for learning and collaboration. • It can be a blog, a wiki, a podcast, or a combination of all 3. • You’ll write a blog that shares how you’ve used ADDIE to create it. • You’ll make a podcast that explains your design to your instructor, classmates, and users.

No Blackboard? No Moodle? • That’s right. We’ll learn about Web2.0 using 2.0 tools. • There are no requried texts, but plenty of reading.
