What are these Objects • SQP—Service Quarter Panel • These are our low mass ‘Type-1’ services composing also PP0 and PP1 • Include our Heat Exchangers • Installed to either side of the Pixel Detector inside of the PST together with the Beam Pipe and its support comprise the ‘Package’ • PST—Pixel Support Tube • The installation and support structure which supports the Pixel Package • Composed of 3 sections, Barrel and two Forwards A&C • To be installed Late Jan • PP1—Patch Panel 1 • The functional end of PP1 is part of the SQP and are configured for Insertion on the Surface • The Physical connection and layout exist only in the pit in final form with all SQP’s arrayed together • Terminates the ‘Type 2’ cables, as well as Cooling and Optical services • All are integrally related E. It has been a busy last couple of months in 154 All SQP’s have been delivered from LBNL and passed Electrical Acceptance Fiber Loading on all SQP’s nearly complete Opto Boards installed on 12 of 16 ISP’s Grounding, Sensor Installation and multitude of trivial yet important mechanical work on all SQP’s nearly complete SQP Integration in Bat. 154 E.   4. SQP Status—available on Wiki Load Target Almost all SQP’s ready for Opto-Board Loading—all ready by shutdown E. Anderssen LBNL

Next Steps • Load Candidate C34 to be fast tracked to completion • Load Opto-Boards Starting Now • Finalize SQP Sign-off for delivery to SR1 • Get to SR1 as quickly as possible to ring-out testing and integration procedure • Beyond dressing of Cables, no experience of final integration and testing of completed SQP’s on ITT • Need to develop procedures and tooling • Cables have been dressed for Insertion on 2 SQP’s • Trial insertion last month showed viability of methods • Continue Loading Opto-Boards on remaining SQP’s E. Cables Dressed on Support Can which also protects tubes during insertion Learning how to test the system after integration into the ITT with the cables in this configuration will be challenging Support Can must be installed and dressed before installation on ITT due to access Dressing Cables for Insertion E. Connectivity Testing • The next major step after delivery of the SQP to SR1 is connectivity testing • ROD based test procedures under development to verify connections at PP0 • The biggest concern here is access to all of the connections • As can be seen from previous slides, access will be difficult • Tools and extensions for leak check are already under development • Delivery of the first SQP to SR1 will be how we develop procedures to address these concerns E. Pixel Support Tube • Need to be ready to install in Late January • Heater Cables finished in Nov • Supports on Forwards bonded • Barrel support Bonding to happen before Shutdown • Requires survey and transfer of SCT mount locations • Few components remain to be installed • Insulating Blankets to be provided by ID • Gas Seal and Supply Tubes • Grounding Straps • Fasteners • Installation tooling being prepared in collaboration with Uni Geneve and ID E. Anderssen LBNL

Installation Environment • Access is Complicated but Possible—Coordinated with SCT and TRT Engineers • Synched to happen during SCT Barrel Testing—support Structure shown will have been removed by then • Currently this is the last week of January • At the End of the PST is PP1 and the ID End Plate E.   12. Prototype PP1 from LN2PHE Paris used in Pit for installation of T2 Cables First Complete Octant Installed Loose connectors are Spares—installed in this octant (C.O2) Cables Will be installed by ‘Quadrant’ which matches tooling PP1 E. Anderssen LBNL
