  2. Where exactly is the Taj Mahal located you may ask. • The Taj Mahal is located in Agra, India. India, is on the continent of Asia.

  3. Who is it built by? • The Taj Mahal, which is also called “The Taj,” was built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan so he could always remember his favorite wife Mumtaz Mahal.

  4. How did she die? • She died giving birth to their 14thchild. In her last breath she urged Shah to build a mausoleum for her like none ever seen before.

  5. Details on the building of the Taj Mahal. • The taj mahal was designed by architect Ustad Ahmad Lahauri. Building began in 1632, and was completed in 1653. thats eleven years.

  6. What it looks like. • The taj mahal is very big. It has many arches and a big white marble dome on top which serves as a mausoleum for a dead lady. It is made of lots of tiny marble bricks and has lots of gardens surrounding it. There is a pool in front that is called the “reflecting pool.”

Emperor Shah Jahan himself described the Taj in these words: Should guilty seek asylum here,Like one pardoned, he becomes free from sin.Should a sinner make his way to this mansion,All his past sins are to be washed away.The sight of this mansion creates sorrowing sighs;And the sun and the moon shed tears from their eyes.In this world this edifice has been made;To display thereby the creator's glory.
