President: Kaitlin Liston • Alumni Panel - Come with questions!! • Duncan & Channon- please sign up, only 4 people have :( • Personal Branding- SO EXCITED • Blurbs Please send important info and a summary of events by Saturday to me + Lydia for the Officer Updates & Newsletter • Leadership & Tasks- how to delegate & handle your interns • Contact your VP or me if there is a big problem • Stay in contact, have clear guidelines

  4. Marketing VP: Lydia • Had our marketing department meeting -- everything is going well! Publicity has fun plans for social media! • We are planning a photoshoot for the website on Thursday 10/26 beginning at 3:30pm. We will have a signup sheet for those who are interested and can make it! • Pins -- still in the process. Debating on message -- do we like #calcomms? Does this resonate with people, or do we want to work on having a different message? Please send me any thoughts or ideas you may have! (potential design below, playing w colors) • As always, growth and innovation are in our efforts. We have a lot of people interested in being GMs still which is fantastic! If you have any ideas for marketing, even if you’re not in the dept, please feel free to reach out :)

Technology & Content: Elizabeth Li • Website is created • And paid for - thanks Michael! • Just waiting for photos and text • Working with Lydia and Kaitlin to get text set • Photoshoot planned (as Lydia mentioned) • Will get URL linked as soon as website is relatively finalized • Interns are working on shot list for photoshoot - may ask for additional ideas from Publicity committee interns? • Content Intern has one blog post up, is working on another pitch for me • Thinking about rebranding “Growl” blog - new name/feel?

  6. Design: Jessie Qian • Next week I’ll be teaching the design team Sketch and infographic stuff, step in on Monday 6:45-7:45 if you’re interested • Soomin is working on the networking panel! More info appreciated ASAP • Fundraising flyer/fb header will be finished tomorrow • We have new preliminary branding guides, please send feedback:

  8. Publicity: Vanessa Kim • We have some fun contents for our instagram ready to go! • Interactive posts - for GAME DAY! (this weekend) • Special days • Inspirational quotes • I had interns sign up for shifts (photography, videography, social copies ) for upcoming events • Upcoming Photoshoot • We will start shooting interactive videos during our meetings to start working on the clip • Please TAG your interns on the photos that we upload on fb so it shows up on more people’s timeline :)

  9. Community Outreach: Carol Wu • Alumni Speaker Panel is tonight! (Lisa Kimura, Reejima Agrawal, Abi Agrawal, Natalie Smith) • We made sure to get vegan & gluten free options this time • Please ask questions during the Q&A portion! :) • Miscellaneous alumni networking opportunities • Video chats with Connie Chen had lack of sign ups :( • Same for Victoria’s coffee chats this Friday • PLEASE URGE YOUR INTERNS TO SIGN UP IF THEY CAN • My interns have begun contacting companies for the Networking Panel two weeks ago • We’ve locked down 6 companies so far, so we will stop contacting companies as of now

External VP: Mary Miller • At our last external meeting my directors set SMART Goals for their teams this semester • Next week we will be working on three tasks to be completed by the end of the semester that can be made into resume bullets • Office Visits are going to be so much fun! Please tempt your interns into going - maybe plan to get lunch with them after? • Can we pay a portion of peoples Bart fare? • School Schedules

Strategic Consulting: Renuka Garg • Beginning outreach to fire departments (core of our consulting project) • Slide deck for SC workshop has been compiled • Have told my interns to send resumes to PD • Goal for next two weeks: make slide deck for SC workshop pretty and create connections with fire departments to incentivize them to use client’s product

Corporate Outreach: Maddie! • 6 companies confirmed for 11/8 panel so far: • Kanopy • Net Impact • W20 Group • Salesforce • AdSemble • John Mcneil Studio • Office Visits scheduled: • October 20 - Duncan Channon (Friday afternoon, 2:00-3:00 pm) • November 3 - Fleishman Hillard (Friday afternoon, 1:00-2:00 pm) * I need an officer for both of these dates to be the point of contact and attend the visit with other UCA members (I will be out of town during the first office visit, and then I have a midterm on the afternoon of the second office visit). All officers please attend unless you have a direct conflict!

  13. Finance: • Little Gem Belgian Waffles confirmed for 11/1 from 3pm-11pm. 15% of proceeds go to UCA. • Interns are drafting emails to target companies for corporate sponsorship. Sending those out this week. • Reimbursements are processing.

  14. Internal- Aisling Duffy • Directors please have your interns send their resumes/cover letters to the Professional Development Team. Take advantage of this great resource in the heat of recruiting season! • Families have been chosen. As directors, you are the role models for our interns. Please show up to events, be supportive, and welcome them! • Krista will now be in charge of taking attendance, so please look for her at our meetings and events • Internal Branch is doing a wonderful job with communication! • Best of luck with midterm season everyone!

  15. Secretary: Jennifer Bates • Continue to send me your attendance! Some officers have made a google doc tracking their intern’s attendance and shared it with me, that is a great way to do it. • It’s easy to forget to keep doing it, some people started but haven’t updated it in a while so maybe set a reminder for yourself • Please emphasize to your interns that meetings and tabling are mandatory, but if they must miss something, they need to fill out the excuse form

  16. Internal Relations: Selicia Hou • Next big social is 11/5 scavenger hunt location TBD • Directors are in each family so please make the necessary messenger groups and meet up with one another!!!! • Also send pics to me listing who’s in the pic • Come up with a fam name • First social is planned for 10/19 @ Albany Bowl 9:30 PM-1 AM • Rides will be arranged and sent out wednesday night • Two weeks to do first bi-weekly social due 11/1 • Karaoke!!!! • Family pairings will be sent out wednesday night

  17. Professional Development: Krista Thomas • Starting Company Profiles • Did first mock interview • Working with increased resume load • Outlined and created email template and form for alumni mentorship program
