Electronic Document Management System (EDMS)Consumer Services Department • The Department handles over 30,000 paper files annually: • Storage costs • Security • No current ability to do simultaneous tasks • Procurement of EDMS will able the CSD to: • Allows customers to access business licensing information • Allows CSD to track file status and whereabouts • Save storage costs • Virtually eliminate loss/misplacement of files • Extend CSD services to 24/7 • Interface with the CSD EOS database
Business Case CostsConsumer Services Department Cost of the project is estimated at $100k and is anticipated to be funded from CORF and/or Code Enforcement Trust Fund Several other County Departments are seeking EDMS projects. Funding, procurement, and installation should be a collaborate effort.

Consumer Services Enterprise Operations System (CSEOS)Consumer Services Department • Funding will result in: • Improved customer service • Faster more accurate licensing • Increase in customer response • Sustainability (major databases have not been replaced in 18 years) • Databases cannot be modified and do not meet the demands of the department • Current system does not allow department sections to track the status/progress of licenses, inspections, collections, and legal action • Databases do not “talk” to each other • No mechanism for performance measurement • The solution to the problem is to procure a business licensing system that incorporates case management, cashiering, inspections, etc. to meet the business needs of CSD’s customers.
Business Case CostsDepartment Name The Project ( $895k) will be funded by CORF, Code Enforcement Trust Fund and CSD operating dollars FY 05/06 - $481k FY 06/07 - $234k FY 07/08 - $0k (maint. costs start in FY 08) FY 08-12 - $180k ($36k annually) $250k was awarded by Code Enforcement Trust Fund toward this project.
