Introduction • PAS is an intervention program designed to assist supervisors in making their employees more successful. • Supervisors can use this system to help identify possible problematic behaviors, and or incidents that attribute to such behaviors.   3. Introduction • PAS is not meant to replace anything a supervisor currently does to assist their employees • PAS is just another tool to assist you in being successful as a supervisor. Legal Support Division Director Gerald Richard

  4. Information Sources • PAS is linked to existing databases • Most are updated nightly • Information is automatically purged from PAS after five year with one exception: • Commendations and awards Legal Support Division Director Gerald Richard

  5. Privacy • Information within PAS is considered private • None of the screens are to be printed or placed in employee files. • PAS data is not to be viewed or shared with anyone other than the employee or their supervisors. Legal Support Division Director Gerald Richard

  6. Privacy • The bad news is that all this information is discoverable and available under the public records laws of the State of Arizona. Legal Support Division Director Gerald Richard

  7. Non-disciplinary • PAS is an intervention tool. • It can be used for PMG purposes and will assist greatly with employee notes. • We encourage supervisors to share PAS information with the employee at least once a year, maybe PMG time. • The employee can review, and possibly dispute the accuracy of the data. • The PAS owners will assist with changing incorrect data. Non-disciplinary • You may discover something in PAS that will require you to do a disciplinary investigation. • We really don’t want you to rely on PAS for details of your investigation. • Use the sources listed under the “?” For complete details and information. • Please “DO NOT” refer to PAS in your supervisory investigations.   9. PAS paperwork • A To-From will be used by employees requesting the following: • The inclusion or deletion of a personal note into PAS. • The request to have data modified which is found to be incorrect. Legal Support Division Director Gerald Richard

  10. Training purposes • During this course of instruction we will give everyone “Departmental” access just like the Chief. This ability will expire at midnight and you will return to normal permissions. • We encourage you to use the system and become familiar with its capabilities, but please don’t abuse this temporary power to peek. We have built a monitoring system into PAS to make sure it is not abused. • This ability to monitor by our bosses will encourage supervisors to use the system. Limited access • Permanent access will be based on your rank. • First level supervisors only get their people. • Second level & third level supervisors get the precinct or detail. • Chiefs / Director get total access. • Temporary access can be granted on request. • We set the date for automatic return to your normal permissions. • These permissions may change in the future based on need.   12. First level will conduct an annual review of your employees’ PAS information, preferably at PMG review. Use PAS to assist in the completion of monthly notes. If any data is claimed to be missing or incorrect, a memo will be sent to IRU requesting modification. Supervisory Responsibilities Legal Support Division Director Gerald Richard

  13. Second level will be responsible for monitoring the use of the PAS database by first level supervisors. Use the PAS system as an additional tool for review of employees requesting transfer into a new division/bureau. Supervisory Responsibilities Legal Support Division Director Gerald Richard
