Statewide an District-wide Achievement Testing(Idaho Special Education Manual pg. 91) “Appropriate accommodations for students with disabilities shall be based on the individual needs of each student. Accommodation decisions are made by the IEP team and shall be recorded in the IEP. Accommodations should facilitate an accurate demonstration of academic achievement, developmental, and functional performance on State and district-wide assessments. They should not provide the student with an unfair advantage or change the underlying skills that are being measured by the test. Accommodations shall be the same or nearly the same as those used by the student in completing classroom assignments and assessment activities. The accommodations shall be necessary for enabling the student to demonstrate knowledge, ability, skill, or mastery. Accommodations do not invalidate test results.”
Accommodations not listed… • The accommodation will need to go through the SDE’s accommodation request process. • Process and directions will be communicated in January. • Only for accommodations not listed in the Smarter Balanced Accommodation guidelines for student with an IEP or 504.
