  1. Students will be rockin in all content this week: Science – Miller and Durbin – Chapter 5 Our Dynamic Earth, Lesson 3 – Earth’s Landforms and Lesson 2 Plate Tectonics test. Math –Unit 4 –Fraction/Decimal/Percentage: Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, and Division Fractions: Reteach Fractions for retake of Common Assessment on Friday 12-13-13. Social Studies – The road to the Revolution. Geography review Reading –Unit 3 Review Unit 3 for Common Assessment Grammar: Review punctuation, verbs, nouns for common assessment. Writing – Miller: Persuasive Writing and Presentation of Informational Writing – Durbin: Writing opinion pieces Practice: On-Demand Writing. HME Fifth Grade NewsletterDec. 16, 2013 Spelling Words – Unit 3: minus loser Humor closet Recent commander Governor splendor Saucer scissors Patriot ideas Radio diary Poet hilltop Grassland footprint Handsome landlord Partner scholar Director pillar gentler Both 5th grade teachers will collaborate for times that we can meet with parents for Social Studies, other Content and Math. We will contact you with dates that you may select from for conferences. Students are expected to complete all homework and in class assignments to the best of their ability when due. IF students fail to turn in homework, THIS will cause a drop in their final grade. Reminders: Math Homework Club - Monday 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm Academic team – Wednesday from 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm . Homework Club 3rd , 4th and 5th grade– Thursdays, 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm
